Insights and Innovation: NISO’s 2025 Education Focus
NISO remains dedicated to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the scholarly communications community. Our 2025 webinar program features an exciting lineup designed to tackle timely issues and drive meaningful discussions. We’ll kick off in January with a State of the Community session, reflecting on recent industry changes and the impact of the 2024 presidential election. Throughout the year, we’ll explore pivotal topics such as AI’s Role Across the Research Cycle, the implementation of the Nelson Memo, and approaches for Managing Risk in Information Sharing. Join us in October as we center Data Ownership and Indigenous Sovereignty, and in December, as we celebrate the fruits of scholarly collaborations between researchers, libraries, and publishers with Collaborative Breakthroughs in Research and Discovery.
Additionally, our 2025 training series offers extended opportunities for skill development. In the spring, we’ll host an eight-week Accessibility Essentials course, covering ADA Title 2, the EAA, and standards for born-digital content. This will be followed by a four-week summer series on Community Intervention & Social Change, and an in-depth eight-week fall course on Artificial Intelligence in Action, focused on the practical applications and implications of AI.
Each webinar is held on a Wednesday from 11:00am to 12:00pm (Eastern). Registration is free for individuals at NISO member organizations, with access credentials provided to organization contacts. Non-member organizations and individual students are also welcome, with a single registration fee covering all attendees from your organization. We look forward to your participation in this impactful year of learning and engagement!
